JONESBORO - Clayton County Public Schools’ (CCPS) Athletic Department is excited to announce that our Clayton Eagles Wheelchair Basketball Team is heading to Macon to play in the AAASP/GHSA State Championship Game! The game will be Saturday, March 8, beginning at 3:00 p.m. The site of the game is the Macon Centreplex located at 200 Coliseum Drive, Macon. Let's Go Eagles! In other athletic news, our district had several CCPS football players attend the "Football Career Conference", at the National Football League (NFL) Combine located in Indianapolis, Indiana! This opportunity was afforded by ACSA, an organization that offered a plethora of information on Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) and other financial guidelines to our student athletes and parents earlier this school year. The student athletes that attended not only got a chance to see live the NFL Combine, but also attended sessions on financial literacy, which gave them in-depth information on how to effectively use financial skills including personal financial management, budgeting, and investing. They received career guidance from well-known NFL executives and connected with sports career-minded individuals and mentors who had been where they are and who were willing to assist them with their respective careers. The following CCPS students who attended this event were: ★ Jaden Johnson - Lovejoy High School ★ Caleb Carson - Lovejoy High School ★ Chad Fairchild - Lovejoy High School ★ Roderick Jackson - Charles Drew High School ★ Jaden Knowlton - Charles Drew High School
