ACSA’s Jahari Medlock signs with Florida Gators on Early Signing Day

The 6-foot-6, 278-pound offensive tackle flipped from Cincinnati in late November.

Adding to the offensive line was a priority for Florida's 2025 recruiting class ahead of Early Signing Day, and the Gators secured a valuable flip down the stretch when Jahari Medlock flipped from Cincinnati to the Gators.

Medlock, who played on both sides of the ball in high school, finalized his decision to join UF when he signed with the program on Early Signing Day.

The Gators were steadily climbing in Medlock's recruitment since offering the 6-foot-6, 278-pounder in late September. After Medlock, who committed to Cincinnati back in the summer, received an offer from Florida's coaching staff, he took an official visit back in October for UF's win over Kentucky, and it was clear the Gators were trending upward in his recruitment.

He made a trip back to The Swamp for UF's final home game of the season to see the Gators upset win over then-No. 9 Ole Miss. While the win over the Wildcats impressed Medlock, he desired to get another look at the program as he looked to make up his mind ahead of Early Signing Day.

"Just to help out my recruitment, the first win against Kentucky, great win," he sad of what this visit accomplished. "So I felt great about that one. That's why coming back really helped my recruitment. I didn't want it to be a one game thing, so that's what made me come back. Seeing that it's the same thing, is real great."

Following the visit, Medlock had seen enough to solidify his decision to flip from the Bearcats.

"I think the aggression [they play with], he said of what Florida has shown him to make him flip. "The aggression for sure. I'm a big player on aggression. If I'm not playing with aggression, I'm not wining my match. How the coaches take care of everything. How they keep control over everything, and how they have the players do what they do. They execute what they do. That's the eye opener for me."

Aside from Florida and Cincinnati, Medlock also visited Georgia Tech this fall in a desire to find the ideal fit for his future. He took an official visit to Georgia Tech on Nov. 20, though it wasn't enough to change his mind. From what he's seen in Gainesville, mixed with the push from assistant offensive line coach John Decoster, it was enough to push the Gators to secure his pledge.

Decoster recruited Medlock heavily, and as his process got to the finish line, he started to push much harder. It meant a lot to Medlock, and showed how much the Gators wanted him in the class.

"It's very meaningful," he said of the press. "Very meaningful. It shows me and lets me know I'm very wanted and very needed here. It made me look here, and look deeper into the school."

247Sports' Composite Rankings ranks Medlock as the No. 759 overall prospect and the No. 56 offensive tackle in the 2025 recruiting class.
